A lot of people come to the site, browse the galleries and think, “Woah! This is kind of intimidating and seems complicated.” But, it really isn’t. Let me walk you through it.
Our custom graphic finishes run the gamut from the subtle to the extreme. From simple color harmonies to textured digital faux finishing and multi-layered tattoo style hand drawn artwork. It all starts with YOUR vision of the coolest guitar ever. You send us an email about your vision through our Quotes Page. We take the info about your guitar or the info about your art idea, design a plan specific to your vision, and give you a quote, explaining all the details involved. Quotes (unless specified) are good for 30 days, so you have a little time to think it over, but chances are you are going to be as excited as we are and want to get going on it right away. As soon as you are ready, we send you a work order PDF to print out ship with your guitar/body, which stays with the guitar the whole time it is here, and track your shipment on its journey to the beautiful subtropical Treasure Coast of Florida. If you are building from scratch or would like a whole new body to replace your current guitar body, we have lots of replacement body options.
One thing that’s different about us (and makes us better, I think) is that we are REAL artists in a REAL art studio. That’s why so many of the guitars in our gallery are one-of-a-kind and something you would never find anywhere else. A True Customized Experience. All our work is done in our in-house art studio and finishing shop, where we’ve been honing our process and producing top quality high gloss wet look finishes to the pleasure of guitar junkies for over 15 years.
When we receive your shipment, we inspect it and if applicable contact you by phone to have a design consultation. The guitar or body is prepped for paint and the paint is applied. At this stage (if applicable) you are sent a series of proofs of the artwork. This is our only opportunity to change things and make it just right. Once you approve the art or color, it is sealed in by multiple layers of high-end top coat, and sanded and buffed to a mega-glossy shine.
We take more pictures of the finished project, and if it’s appropriate, we ask your permission to include it in our online gallery! You’ll be able to send friends and family to our site to see your guitar. Then it is carefully packed up and shipped to the return address you provide us. If you are in the US lower 48, WE pay the return shipping. If you live elsewhere, we offer a return shipping credit to be fair, and we discuss this more on our International Shipping page.
So, there you have it. The whole process usually takes 2-4 weeks, depending on our work load, and if we have to special order parts and accessories for your project. We can provide a wide variety of high quality custom USA made bodies in a variety of specs, and routing configurations, or purchase new guitars from various sites on the web (on your behalf) to be shipped directly to us for your dream project.
Now you see, it’s not that complicated and we do 90% of the work for you. Ian and I have spent 15 years refining this process and made hundreds of guitar owners super happy. We make sure you are a part of the process every step of the way.
